Veteran Grappling Program

Veteran Grappling was founded by former Australian combat veteran Scott Steer to support those who have served. The program combines martial arts, physiotherapy, exercise physiology, psychology, and other disciplines to improve both mental and physical health. The aim is to create a safe, community-based environment where veterans can work toward their own goals while receiving coordinated care from a multi-disciplinary team.

Session Structure

Learn what to expect during your sessions with us. This document details the structure of initial, subsequent, and final sessions, including warm-ups, main activities, and cool-downs. Understand how we tailor each session to your specific needs while ensuring safety and tracking progress throughout your journey with us.

Clinician Roles

This guide explains the different roles within our team—psychologists, physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, and instructors—and what you can expect from each during sessions. It covers our approach to treatment, from mental health support to evidence-based exercise programs and how our multidisciplinary team collaborates for your care.

Referral Form

This form is used by medical practitioners to refer veterans to our program. It collects essential patient details, health care information, approved medical conditions, and treatment goals. The form ensures that our program aligns with the recommendations of your primary healthcare provider for a coordinated approach to your care.

Risk Assessment

This form is used by GPs to determine whether a client’s health or wellbeing may be affected by standard treatment cycle requirements. It outlines the tailored referral process and the allied health services involved. The form helps ensure that veterans with special needs receive appropriate care arrangements.
